This past weekend was pretty chill. Saturday, after climbing, we made our way to Jude’s house for game night.
Once there, Jack and I split the Schlafly Triple brewed by The Schlafly Taproom of St Louis, MO at 10% abv.
Later, while playing games, I had one of our homebrews, the smoked porter.
Last night after climbing, Jack and I decided to head out for dinner and get a few beers.
First we went to Hank’s Oyster Bar in Old Town, it was super packed! But luckily since it was just the two of us we were seated fairly quickly.
With dinner I got the Boulevard Tank 7 Saison by Boulevard Brewing Co of Kansas City, MO at 8.5% abv.
After dinner we decided to head down the street two blocks to Red Rocks Pizzeria for another beer.
I was really feelin the saisons last night so I thought I would try the Glimmerglass Saison by Brewery Ommegang at 5.4% abv.
Both beers are great for summer, it was a fun impromptu evening running around Old Town.
I’ve taken a little hiatus from blogging, but I’m going to start fresh and try to begin again.
Jack and I just got back from an awesome trip to Costa Rica. I didn’t get many pictures there cause I was running around in a bathing suit the whole time.
I did, however, manage to find a few good brews.
We toured a butterfly garden, and after the tour they had homebrews for sale!
They were pretty good too!
I tried their dark IPA, Amber, Lemongrass, and their take on Boston lager. Much, much better than the local CR beer, Imperial.
Later in the week we found a little hostel run by Germans. They also have a brewery called Jungle Brew. I tried their porter, dark Belgian blonde, and their Red. With an awesome view of the beach, and their brews, it was a fantastic way to end the day.
But now we’re back and Jack and I decided to end our vacation with one more beer. This evening we split a beer that Cindy and Frank gave us at Christmas. We had the Vicaris Triple-Gueuze by Brouwerij Dilewyns of Grembergen, Belgium at 7% abv.
It was heaven!
