I landed around dinner time, so when Jack and his friend Sean picked me up from the airport, we dropped off my bags and headed out for dinner.
I desperately wanted to jump right into trying new west coast beers, but unfortunately for us, the day before was IPA day. Everywhere we went had nothing but IPAs on tap. So I settled for an old favorite, the Rhodenbach Grand Cru.
This beer brings back so many fantastic memories of our trip to Belgium.
I liked the bar we were in, but they didn’t serve food, so we meandered across the street to a gourmet burger joint. I was pleased, I managed to get a dark beer! I had the Gunpowder Plot by Black Raven Brewing Company out of Redmond, Washington.
This is exactly the kind of local brew I’m on the hunt for!
