Good Times in Louisiana

In May, we did a ton of traveling and one of the best trips we went on was to New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana for Kristen and Mark’s wedding!

It was my first time in the deep south and I was itching to try the local dishes and beers.

We flew in very late on a Wednesday night and the night life was just getting started! So we ventured out for a bite and a beer.

I was determined to drink local beers and started of the trip with Abita Restoration Pale Ale.

Knowing we had a busy couple of days in front of us we called it an early night.

Because the next day, after walking around the French Quarter, we went to NOLA Brewery!

Since we were there on a Thursday we weren’t able to get a tour, but looking at their offerings I was pretty impressed!

They had more beers available than I was expecting! I promptly started with a flight of four, and began to make my way through their list.

Ok, so I didn’t drink them all! But I tried all that caught my eye.
The very best of them, in my opinion, was the Arabella. It was a a delicious, light sour beer. I was in heaven!

After a nap and dinner, we headed out for a night of pre wedding festivities!

It was a blast! But I was certainly feeling worse for the wear the next morning!
