Such amazing food.
A memorial to the Jewish people shot on the banks of the Danube.
Marionette bar, good beers. Every time they poured a draft beer, the puppets moved.
We took the morning train to Budapest, it took about three hours. It also took way longer than usual to meet up with our air bnb host and find the apartment.
Right after we left our apartment, we were walking down a small side street to get back to their car and someone above us threw a bucket of water (we hope it was water, we didn’t smell like piss) out of the window, right on top of us!! We were horrified. Kaitlyn’s friends were horrified. What is this?!? The middle ages?!?
The best part of today though was that we met up with two friends of Kaitlyn and Kristof’s. They were amazing and picked us up from the train station and drove us to where we needed to be and had a restaurant lined up for us for lunch.
There was a lot of catching up and drinking to do. Traditional Hungarian ice creams and then we got a few beers outside and watched the handball championship. It was interesting guessing the rules.
Anyway, hardly any pictures today.
My first Hungarian beer.
Our walk back.
The outside of our apartment.
The living room. I love the high ceilings.
More exciting things tomorrow.
My dad and I were ready to go early so we all made plans to meet up later.
In the morning we went to the Museum of Military History. It was fantastic.
After, we met up with my mom at the gates of Schönbrunn Palace.
We weren’t allowed to take pictures inside, but it was phenomenal.
Met up with Kaitlyn and Kristof and metroed back.
Beers and home.
Today, Kaitlyn and Kristof arrived. Once they got settled, we sallied forth. We all got 48 hour metro passes since we’d be taking it all over. Good decision.
First, to the Ferris wheel.
Lunch. We were ravenous.
St Stephens cathedral.
Then we metroed over to the Ratshaus and the parliament building.
More snacks and beers.
Thanks for looking!
A few pics from our last night in Prague.
Late the next morning we got a train to Vienna. It was a four hour ride, so we got to do very little in Vienna after we meet our air bnb host.
We decided to figure out their metro/ underground system and go to a brewery a little further out called Beaver Brewing Company.
Fantastic beers and food. Metroed home and had one more beer that we had brought with us from the Czech Republic.
Nice beer. Such a full body that I would have guessed it was higher in alcohol. Not as bubbly as Belgian abbey beers.
Thank you and goodnight!
Today I went out on my own. I wanted to do a bit more walking. I had seen a park with a cable car and decided to hike to the top. At the top, there was Petrin Tower, so I got a ticket and walked to the top of that too.
I had lunch and passed by the Kafka monument on the way to a climbing gym.
Met the parents and had beers with my dad.
Tomorrow we leave Prague and take a train to Vienna.
