No rain today, I couldn’t be happier!
I saw everything.
First I found Katariina Käik. The most medieval street in Tallinn.
There are old tomb stones on the walls of the alley.
I got lost and stumbled upon a great view!
Then I walked along the longest section of the wall still intact.
And had beers at an underground bar called Pôrgu, which means “hell”
I signed up for a prison tour, it sounded creepy, and it was.
Patarei prison was originally built as a fortress by the sea in 1820.
The prison was run by the KGB for many years, just imagine the atrocities. They only got heating in the 1970s. This place was freezing! And it’s mid June!
The most chilling thing about the prison, was that it was in use until 2004!!
Then I found some cellar bars to cheer me up!
A little grim. But what a fabulous day.
