Sadly there were no direct trains so we ended up taking five different ones to get there, what a travel day! Most were short, only 30 minutes, it just seemed silly.
But the scenery was outstanding. We passed though so many little towns tucked away in the alps.
We got settled and Melinda and Dean came over to welcome us! They just got in yesterday or the day before. They also brought beers and snacks!!
They met with their climbing guide to plan the next few days, then we all went out to dinner. (Check out Mont Blanc in the background! It just looms over everything!)
Dinner was intense! I promise I did not eat just a plate of melted cheese.
We hope to get more climbing in tomorrow -climbing that doesn’t involve traversing a glacier. With just a backpack for this trip I had no room for crampons and ice axes. (I don’t mountaineer anyway, maybe someday)
