We didn’t really have a plan for our last day so we just wandered where we felt like. We popped into about three Greek orthodox churches.
We walked up the Hill of the Muses and got a great view of the Acropolis.
Lunch was fantastic.
The next day, we flew to Kalymnos!
Time for some climbing!
After a breakfast of unbelievable Greek pastries, we took the metro to the Acropolis.
The Arch of Hadrian.
We then walked to the Panathenic Stadium, it was excavated in the 1860s-70s and rebuilt. It’s the only stadium in the world to be made entirely out of marble. It hosted the first modern Olympic games in 1896.
Found pretty good beers at a place called Beertime!
And I’ll always remember Athens for its copious amounts of junk shops.
The first day in Athens was a half day. Jack landed about thirty minutes before my flight from Sofia landed. Once we got settled we started walking around. We meandered through the streets and came across the Agora and went inside.
A nice view of the Acropolis!
Then more street wanderings before dinner.
